Dr. Gunderson is a board certified ophthalmologist and has a special interest in glaucoma and laser surgery.
From 1967 - 1971, he studied internal medicine at the University of Minnesota, psychiatry at The Massachusetts General Hospital, and served in Vietnam as a Flight Surgeon where he received the Bronze Star.
He began doing eye surgery in Vietnam and, upon his return, entered the residency program in ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He completed his residency in 1975 and was board certified in Ophthalmology in 1976.
Dr. Gunderson is Surgeon, Active Staff at The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Department of Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School and a member of the medical staffs of Emerson Hospital and Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
